India’s Defence Exports Hit Record ₹23,622 Cr in FY25

India’s defence exports have reached a new zenith in Financial Year 2024-25, scaling to Rs 23,622 crore. This represents a robust 12.04% increase over the previous fiscal year, underscoring a significant advancement in the nation’s strategic capabilities.

The surge is indicative of several key factors, including the government’s proactive policies promoting indigenization and export-oriented manufacturing, as well as the enhanced competitiveness of Indian defence products in the global market.

This performance not only bolsters the Indian economy but also strengthens the nation’s geopolitical standing. Increased defence exports translate to greater self-reliance in defence production, reducing dependence on foreign imports and contributing to the overall security architecture.

The sustained growth trajectory signifies a maturing defence industry, capable of meeting both domestic needs and fulfilling international demand. Further investment in research and development, coupled with streamlined export procedures, will be crucial to maintaining this momentum and solidifying India’s position as a key player in the global defence market.
