The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved two multitracking projects across Indian Railways, aimed at enhancing capacity and operational efficiency. The projects span approximately 318 kilometers and will cover seven districts in the states of Jharkhand, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh.
The multitracking initiative is expected to significantly decongest existing railway lines, improve punctuality of train services, and boost freight and passenger movement. The decision is aligned with the government’s commitment to modernize railway infrastructure and promote seamless connectivity across regions.
The projects will generate substantial employment opportunities during the construction phase and contribute to local economic development in the respective districts.
