Society for Automotive Fitness & Environment (SAFE), an esteemed initiative by SIAM (Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers), takes the helm in commemorating World Environment Day 2023. This momentous occasion is marked by a plethora of environmentally responsible activities conducted in collaboration with automobile dealers and service stations across India.
The theme for this year's World Environment Day focuses on the pressing concern of plastic pollution and the resolute global endeavour to combat it. In line with this objective, SIAM has undertaken multiple mass awareness campaigns to promote sustainability and drive sustainable development within the industry. These initiatives encompassed conducting free day-long PUC (Pollution Under Control) check-ups for vehicles and distributing complimentary PUC certificates at authorized centers. Additionally, SIAM actively distributed free saplings to customers, emphasizing the significance of environmental preservation and encouraging individuals to embrace eco-friendly practices.
Collaborating with all its members, SIAM has also organized an International Conference on “Imperatives of Sustainable Mobility: Towards Vision India@2047” to commemorate the World Environment Day 2023 in New Delhi. The conference witnessed the presence of eminent speakers from government, corporates, OEMs, as well as industry experts from India and across the globe. These distinguished speakers graciously shared their invaluable experiences and profound insights, enriching the event with their expertise and paving the way for a sustainable future in the realm of mobility.
